Please help me mark ten years since my diagnosis with a donation!
I didn't know I'd make it this far.
When I was first diagnosed with melanoma in April 2013, I didn't know what to expect. I definitely didn't expect that something on my skin might migrate, first to my lungs, and then to my brain. And I didn't know how good my timing was -- after years of not finding treatments that worked for metastatic melanoma, suddenly many potential treatments had come about, namely immunotherapy and targeted therapy. These treatments saved my life, and they may have cured me (although that word is not yet being used).
As grateful as I am to have survived this long, I never forget all of the people who didn't make it, some of whom I had the privilege to get to know. I want treatments that work for all patients. I don't want any more families to experience the heartbreak of losing a loved one to melanoma. And so I walk.
Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.
There is more to be done and a long way to go. Please help me help the MRF to make the positive outcome I have experienced a regular occurrence.
Step up and donate to Miles for Melanoma today.
