Please support my fundraising efforts for the Melanoma Research Foundation!
On August 23rd of 2018 I lost my best friend and sister in law, Pam Smith Maisch. Pam was my “go to” person...my soundboard...my second mom. She was a survivor of melanoma for 25 years, and then in November of 2017 was faced with another fight. This time it was going to be the fight of her life...and Pam fought- she fought to see her new grandson- she fought to be with her new husband, Dave- she fought to be with her kids and her friends and family. But this fight would not end the way we all hoped for, and we lost our “Ella”.
Last year we participated in our first Miles for Melanoma walk and we were one of the largest groups and biggest fundraisers. This year, on May 16th, our family and friends will walk to raise money for this deadly form of cancer. My family and I will walk to remember this beautiful soul who I miss desperately every day.
We would truly appreciate any donation to help us fight for others so they can survive this terrible cancer.
The cure for melanoma begins with me.
Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found soon. Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Every step matters and every step counts. Significant advancement has been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research.
There is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight. The energy, enthusiasm and encouragement from patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and the medical community impacts many lives and many future.
Step up and donate to Miles for Melanoma today.
