Please support my fundraising efforts for the Melanoma Research Foundation!
The cure for melanoma begins with me.
On May 11th I’ll be running the Miles for Melanoma 5k as part of Team Brennan in honor of Brennan Schwab, who left us all too soon on February 2023 after a battle with Melanoma. Brennan and I met when I first moved to Washington, DC back in June 2021, but given our shared roots to Fayetteville, New York and common threads to the Syracuse YoungLife community, it had felt like we’d known each other for much longer. I felt a wonderful sense of familiarity getting to know Brennan, not just because of our mutual friends and life experiences, but because he was genuinely such a warm and welcoming person.
Though Brennan is no longer with us, I’ve felt his presence in spending time with his wife Genny and dog May in the last year and a half, which I’m incredibly grateful for. My partner Jon and I have become May’s dog-sitters, something we consider to be one of the greatest joys in our lives.
Team Brennan will come together to run the Miles for Melanoma 5k to celebrate Brennan and raise money for the Melanoma Research Foundation. I’d greatly appreciate your support as we work as a team to raise money for this great cause and honor such a significant person in both the Syracuse and DC communities.
Every step matters and every step counts. Significant advancement has bee made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research.
There is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight. The energy, enthusiasm and encouragement from patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and the medical community impacts many lives and many future.
Step up and donate to Miles for Melanoma today.
