2019 Miles for Melanoma Twin Cities

Susie's Flower Patch

Welcome to our team, Susie's Flower Patch! We're walking in honor of Sue Carlson, who lost her battle with melanoma in July 2017.

Sue had many hobbies, but come spring time her passion for her garden took center stage. It was not uncommon to see tulips poking through the last of the snow cover ;)

Her gardens were a window into her life. Pouring everything in to her family, loved ones, and the kids at school each and every day - not unlike her precious garden. Since her passing I can't help but think that each of us to her were newly planted bulbs that she would care for, doing everything that she could to help us each to blossom.

I invite you to join our team to honor Sue. Every person, every flower, every petal counts towards the goal of gaining more awareness and targeting resources to find new treatments and ultimately a cure for melanoma.

Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found soon. Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.

Every step matters and every step counts. Significant advancement has been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research.

There is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight. The energy, enthusiasm and encouragement from patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and the medical community impacts many lives and many future.

Step up and donate or, even better, join our team today!
