Team Jeff Black
"There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains."
By the time we run this race, three years will have passed since our dad, Jeff, was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma, and two years since he lost the battle. His left us too soon at age 59 and he is missed beyond measure-- especially by his 5 children. The world is a better place because of his love, kindness, and gentle heart. Let's run this race in honor of Jeff and find a cure! And don't forget your sunscreen!
Every step matters and every step counts. Significant advancement has been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research. There is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight.
