In memory of our Mom, Paula Buckley, Team Paula will run and support New England Miles for Melanoma for the second consecutive year. This year, the virtual run/walk will take place on July 18, 2020, and free exercise classes will be offered to participants during the week leading up to race day.
Our Mom fought with every fiber of her being to beat melanoma, but this horrific disease was too aggressive even though she was only 59 years old and a very healthy person. Her strength and perseverance remain alive in our family and all those she encountered. Her incredible character, compassion, and generosity continue to radiate each and every day in our hearts and actions. This road race is an opportunity for us to exemplify our Mom's generous nature by supporting others who are currently battling melanoma.
Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found very soon. Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Every step matters and every step counts. As treatments continue to be studied and improved, there is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight. The energy, enthusiasm and encouragement from patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and the medical community impacts many lives.
It would mean so much if you could virtually run, walk, and support Team Paula! Thank you!
