2024 DC Miles for Melanoma

Dr. Bryce United

Bryce Bludevich, MD fought a courageous battle against Melanoma. She never gave up, and she exhausted every treatment and trial available to her. She was brave, never complained, and continued to dedicate her life to helping others.

All Bryce wanted to do was help people; children in particular. She was near the end of her first year of surgical residency when she was diagnosed with Melanoma and was undergoing treatment throughout her second year. Bryce's goal was to become a pediatric surgeon and she had just started two years for research at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL when the cancer returned.

She resumed her fight during COVID, often undergoing procedures and lengthy hospital stays without any visitors allowed. But she never wavered and continued to be there for others, supporting and facilitating the formation of a residents’ labor union; and assisting with the recruitment, orientation, and transition of new surgical residents into the program. While she was fighting her battle against Melanoma she rode 200 miles to raise money for childhood cancer. That is what Bryce did; she helped people.

Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found soon. Significant advancement has been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research.

Please join or support our team to continue Bryce's fight against Melanoma by raising awareness and funds for research!
